July 4, 2007 - Linday Lohan's alcohol-free birthday bash |
|
 |
It may not have been the Vegas birthday bash she
envisioned, but Lindsay Lohan still managed to turn
21 in style—if without the shots.
The rehabbing star left Promises treatment center on
Monday to host friends and family at a low-key party
held at a private beachfront residence in Malibu. |
|
Her mother, Dina, and younger siblings Ali, 13, and
Dakota, 11, flew out from New York for the
reportedly booze-free event, which was also attended
by Lohan's onetime romantic interest, Calum Best,
and Nicole Richie's onetime fiancé, DJ AM. |
|
Partygoers were spotted bearing shopping bags from
Cartier, Hermès and Louis Vuitton, presumably holding
stylish gifts for the fashion-conscious birthday girl.
As her guests lounged outside on beach chairs, a bikini-clad
Lohan alternated between hiding out from a crowd of about 30
photographers and snapping back at them with a telephoto
lens of her own, which she also used to take pictures of her
guests.
Proving that she was in a celebratory mood, the actress even
sent out for five pizzas and had her bodyguard deliver them
to the paparazzi "with love," People reports.
At about 2:15 a.m., Lohan called it a night and returned to
Promises, where she has decided to remain for an extended
course of treatment.
The actress checked into rehab on May 28, following a
memorable Memorial Day weekend during which she was arrested
for DUI after crashing her Mercedes into a curb.
Though police said they discovered a "usable amount" of a
substance believed to be cocaine on the scene, the District
Attorney's Office has yet to file any charges against Lohan.
After reports surfaced last week that the Georgia Rule star
had cocaine in her bloodstream and a blood-alcohol level
nearly twice the legal limit at the time of her arrest, her
high-powered attorney, Blair Berk, blasted the Beverly Hills
Police Department for leaking unverified information.
Police spokesman Lt. Mitch McCann said he was unable to
confirm the details of the preliminary investigation and
that the department would be preparing a final report in the
coming days.
Lohan is due to be arraigned Aug. 24. |
