Biography |
Jenna Fischer is an actress best known for her role as Pam
Beesly in the U.S. adaptation of The Office. Fischer was
born Regina Marie Fischer in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, but was
raised in St. Louis, Missouri, attending Nerinx Hall High
School in suburban Webster Groves. She received a Bachelor
of Arts in Theatre from Truman State University.
Fischer’s television series credits include guest-starring
roles on Six Feet Under, That '70s Show, Cold Case, Miss
Match, Strong Medicine, What I Like About You, Off Centre,
Undeclared and Spin City. Her feature-film credits include
Employee of the Month, Lucky 13 and The Specials. She is
also going to be in Blades of Glory which is currently
filming and stars Will Ferrell and Jon Heder.
Fischer talked about her career aspirations in an interview
with the student newspaper at her alma mater:
Honestly it would be great to get to play Pam for a long,
long time ... ," she said. "I don't have real big
aspirations to be a movie star. I would love to be on a
long-running hit TV show. You end up playing a defining role

Took her first acting class with Sean Gunn (who stars as
Kirk on WB's "Gilmore Girls" (2000)) at the age of six in
St. Louis, Missouri. The class was taught by her mother,
Anne Fischer. Jenna and Sean stayed in touch over the years
and in October 2000 she married his brother, writer/director
James Gunn.
Graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville,
Missouri
Daughter of Anne Fischer.
Originally enrolled at Truman State University as a Pre-Law
student; later changed to Theatre.
Worked as a receptionist in various offices. Types 85 WPM
with 90% accuracy.
Considered becoming a veterinarian due to her love for
animals; ultimately opted for working with Kitten Rescue and
being the proud owner of a dog and a cat (Andy, featured
prominently with Jenna in 2006 issue of People Magazine's
100 Most Beautiful).

First met husband James Gunnat a script reading for The
