Biography |
Jakki Degg was born February 20, 1978, in Stone,
Staffordshire, England. A blonde beauty from the very
beginning, Jakki took an early interest in dancing and began
taking ballet lessons at the tender age of 4. Eleven years
later, her athleticism and grace allowed her to capture a
succession of intense dance competitions.
Although Jakki’s innate sense of rhythm was unmistakable,
she chose to shelve her dancing ambitions following high
school and enrolled in hairdressing school instead. Luckily
she excelled at that pursuit as well and began managing her
own hair salon in the West Midlands by the age of 20.
Jakki may have continued crimping hair and giving trims were
it not for her mother’s encouragement to enter the Max Power
Live Babe competition in 1999. Not surprisingly, the
Staffordshire stunner beat out hundreds of other entrants to
be named Max Star Babe, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Following the competition, Jakki became one of Britain’s
most in-demand pinups and she responded with multiple
topless and semi-nude appearances in both The Sun and Daily
Star. She also strutted her stuff in popular men’s magazines
such as Front, Loaded, FHM, Esquire, M8, GQ, Maxim, Fast
Car, Boys Toys, OK, and of course, Max Power. In fact, for
the first two years of her modeling career it was almost
impossible not to find a magazine that featured one of her
sexy spreads.
Jakki also became a familiar face on British talk shows like
Big Breakfast and So Graham Norton, and she made her acting
debut in 2001 in the made-for-TV film Is Harry on the Boat?
At the end of the year Jakki was voted Best Page 3 Girl Ever
by readers of The Sun, edging out equally famous models like
Samantha Fox, Jordan and Lucy Pinder.
Although Jakki officially retired from Page 3 modeling the
following year, her presence still continued to be felt
thanks to a huge advertising campaign for PlayStation 2 and
appearances on Fear Factor and a celebrity version of The
Weakest Link. Proving herself to be more than just a pretty
face, Jakki even won the competition, earning 15,000 pounds
for the RSPCA in the process.
2004 proved to be an even bigger year for the Stone native.
In addition to invading America for a pair of red hot photo
shoots, Jakki also appeared in EuroTrip, starring Michelle
Trachtenberg, and featuring Matt Damon and Lucy Lawless. In
between posing on bear-skin rugs and visiting the troops in
Iraq, she also somehow found time to begin a university
degree in abnormal and criminal psychology.
Despite Jakki’s propensity for shedding her clothes, she’s
encouraging women to put it on by designing her very own
line of lingerie called Bootee. |
