Biography |
Eugenia Silva was born on January 13, 1976, in a true world
epicenter of female beauty: Madrid, Spain. Though she's a
capital girl by birth, she grew up in the nearby, but much
smaller Toledo.
She was raised in a political family. Her uncle, Antonio
Hernndez-Mancha, was an important jurist who ran for the
Spanish presidency. Such intellectual surroundings would
later compel her to enroll in law school.
No doubt she knew she was gorgeous early on. At only 15, she
entered the Elite model agency's Look of the Year contest
and won. Immediately her celestial face was splashed on
major magazine covers, including the Spanish editions of
Bazaar, Telva and Vogue.
Her modeling career has been in high gear ever since. Noted
Spanish designer Oscar de la Renta nabbed her to represent
his fragrance So. Soon Carolina Herrera, another Iberian
giant, did the same, with Loewe following suit. These jobs
allowed her to decide when, how, and for whom she would
work.
Her face became more and more ubiquitous, as this beautiful
goddess graced billboards and magazines all over Europe,
especially in France and Italy, two fashion powerhouses.
After achieving solid success in European fashion, Eugenia
enrolled in law school at the Colegio Universitario Cardenal
Cisneros, part of Complutense University. While she doesn't
plan on a career in law, she says she likes learning and
proving to herself and others that she has a brain, an organ
seldom used to its full potential in the modeling world.
With degree in hand, she moved to France, where she hit the
catwalk regularly, sporting the latest cuts from such names
as Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Christian Dior, Guy Laroche,
Issey Miyake, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Givenchy. She then
moved to New York to assume the dream job of many models, a
Victoria's Secret girl.
And to show she has a dash of entrepreneurial savvy as well,
she recently opened a boutique in Madrid where she sells the
latest designs from Paris.
Naturally, a woman of her stature could only be seen with a
man just as stylistically eminent. Eugenia dated Spanish
model Enrique Palacios, with whom she did a sensual photo
shoot in the Spanish GQ. She regrets that decision to expose
such an intimate part of her life, and today she keeps her
boyfriends a secret, making sure she dates no one famous. |
