Biography |
Elisa Donovan is an American actress.
Donovan was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of
Charlotte and Jack Donovan, who was a business executive.
She grew up on Long Island where she was an accomplished
gymnast, dancer and equestrian. She began studying acting at
the age of 12. She attended Eugene Lang College The New
School For Liberal Arts in New York City, where she studied
writing and literature, acting and dramatic literature.
Donovan's breakthrough role was in the film Clueless. Other
notable roles included the film A Night at the Roxbury and
playing Morgan Cavanaugh on the television sitcom Sabrina,
the Teenage Witch.
She admitted to being a "hard-core anorexic" between 1993
and 1995 and her weight dropped to 90 pounds. She
contributed a story to the book Chicken Soup for the Teenage
Soul regarding her battles with anorexia. She began to turn
her life around when her eating disorder caused her to have
a mild heart attack. |
