Biography |
Born on April 10, 1982, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Chyler
Leigh Potts -- she dropped the "Potts" when she started
acting -- grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At age 12,
she moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother. About two
years later, Chyler began modeling, having sought out the
opportunity after receiving encouragement from her friends.
Boasting a pretty face, Chyler Leigh was a natural when it
came to starring in ads and soon enough, she was featured in
several local television commercials. Her first serious gig
as an actress came in 1996, when she began cohosting the
show Hall Pass. The following year she landed a brief role
on a children's show called Kinetic City Super Crew.
In 1999, Leigh survived her first busy pilot season, as she
auditioned for various roles in upcoming television series.
She earned a role on Saving Graces, a comedy on the WB, but
the show wasn't picked up. Although she was cast in Safe
Harbor, the show didn't last more than one season.
Chyler's single major movie credit to date is the comedy
spoof Not Another Teen Movie, in the lead role. She married
actor Nathan West in 2002, the same year she appeared in the
short-lived series Girls Club and That '80s Show. She
upgraded to The Practice in 2003 and then landed regular
roles in two new television shows (making their debuts in
2005): Rocky Point and Reunion. Clearly, this young mother
of one is on the way up. |

the cover.
Though only 23 years old, she has already been a part of
nine different TV series.
