Biography |
Carré Otis was born on September 28th, 1968, in San
Francisco, California. She moved to New York City at age
fifteen to pursue a modeling career, after having modeled
for a year at home.
Contrary to those who made the switch from model to actress,
such as Denise Richards, Cameron Diaz and Angie Harmon (to
name a few), Carré started out as an actress at the age of
fourteen, before posing for photographers. Her modeling
career was jump started when she appeared on the cover of
the French edition of the fashion magazine Elle, allowing
the rest of the world to lay eyes on the brown-haired,
green/blue-eyed beauty.
Just like future Guess? Girls Shana Zadrick and Josie Maran,
Carré was discovered by Guess? president and creative
director Paul Marciano. Her work with Guess? led to her
working with famous photographers Bruce Weber and Herb Ritts
in the years that followed.
If you don't remember Carré as the Guess? Girl in the early
90's, you surely remember her as the biker babe in the
Calvin Klein jeans ads during the same time period. Her
other modeling work includes cover shots for magazines such
as New Women, Gear and San Francisco.
When not modeling, Carré's film resume started to become
more complete with a role in 1990's Wild Orchid, where she
met her husband-to-be, Hollywood bad boy Mickey Rourke. The
couple divorced after 2 years of marriage.
In 1996, Carré appeared in the film Exit in Red, and 2 years
later, she could be seen in the film Simon Says.
1996 was also the year that Carré was featured in the
Pirelli Calendar, a project honoring the most beautiful
women, which also featured the sexy Laetitia Casta. Sports
Illustrated knows how to pick their swimsuit babes; Carré
appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Millennium
Edition with models Daniela Pestova and Heidi Klum.
Carré almost as many tattoos as model James King; she has
five body imprints -- a rose and a Japanese peace sign on
her right ankle; a Tibetan symbol on her left ankle; an
angel on her back; and a Native American Thunderbird on her
wrist.
Presently signed with The Dash Group, Carré continues to
work on her film and modeling careers. Mickey Rourke may
have seen the last of her, but we certainly haven't. |
